II. APPEARANCE
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 156 lbs.
Hair: Short cut, blue.
Eyes: Deep blue
General Appearance: Daelyn is around average height, and she has a somewhat lean, yet strong build. She favors the color blue, and such is apparent in her choice of clothing. She has a set 'uniform' outfit that she wears when she is around the guild or when she knows she will engage in battle at some point, and she only goes casual on those rare times that she takes a day off. Her face sometimes gives the impression that she is younger than she actually is, but her maturity shows whenever she is on the battle field.
Extra: She has a scar across the top of her left arm. She also has a different 'uniform' outfit that she insists on wearing whenever she knows she will be around the guild or in battle. Don't worry, she has three of the same outfit.
- Said uniform:
Personality: Daelyn is rather awkward when it comes to interactions with people, often stuttering when she speaks, or saying things that are the complete opposite of what she really means. She does her very best to be kind to people, though that kindness can backfire sometimes because she doesn't always think things through. She always means well though. Daelyn is impatient and curious, and she will often make rash decisions or run out ahead of a group to see what's ahead, even if it's dangerous. She does apologize every time a plan fails, or she hurts someone that she cares about.
Prioritizing training for all of her life, she acts like a completely different person in battle. When speaking about swords or the like, She never skips a word, which is very different from her normal personality. She is super serious in a fight, displaying incredible focus on the target, though that tends to cause her to ignore her surroundings. She doesn't quite know how to stop herself once she gets started and it is very possible for her to cross a line or take a step too far. She feels bad killing, but will not hesitate to do so if needed. Strength is everything to her.

Fears:
Fire- You could get burned, and burns are pretty scary looking.
Spiders- They are just plain creepy, and have you Seen a spider bite?
Positive Traits:
Acrobatic (+3): You have excellent body awareness and coordination.
Agile (+3): You are particularly flexible and poised.
Fortitude (+3): You are tougher than normal. You can take more hits than the regular Joe.
Swift (+3): You are fleet of foot. When running, you move three times your normal speed.
Negative Traits:
Bravado (-2): You are rash in combat, refusing to show weakness by falling back from your enemies' blows. You either face it and stop it, or get hit in the progress. In addition, you cannot fight defensively.
Compulsive Honesty (-2): You cannot tell a lie, nor can you behave in a deceitful fashion. You tend to be blunt rather than tactful, even if it means insulting someone who you and your companions are trying to impress.
Curiosity (-1): You're a naturally curious person and you find mysteries of any sort irresistible. In most circumstances, alas, your curiosity overrides your common sense. This forces you to investigate something unusual, even if it looks like it might be dangerous.
Daredevil (-2): You only really feel alive when you're staring death in the face. Your character is addicted to the thrill of death-defying stunts, pushing himsefl to the limit at every available opportunity.
Overconfident (-1): Nothing is beyond your capabilities. If you wanted, you could defeat the best swordsman in the world; you just haven't had any reason to do so yet. And surely that chasm isn't too wide for you to leap across.
Overzealous (-1): You are incapable of having a weak opinion. Everything you believe, you believe as if your life depended on it. Everything you don't believe in, you hate with a passion.Once in a while your flaw gets you to strongly defend one of your opinions, no matter how inappropriate the time and place, nor what the circumstances of such an outburst may be.
Proud (-1): You don't like accepting help from others. If a gift or offer of aid smacks of charity or pity even the slightest bit, you grow indignant and refuse it.
Reckless (-1): You lack the emotion of fear. Unfortunately, it is often an important cue that keeps men from doing foolhardy things. Sure, you don't flinch at the sight of even the most hideous monster, but neither do you feel the need to run away when outclassed.
Tongue-Tied (-1): This disadvantage comes up whenever you try to discuss anything of importance and relay pressing information and such. You have the tendency to incorrectly state facts, forget or mix up names, and generally say the wrong thing.
IV. MAGIC
Magic: Swords Magic
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: The user creates a number of swords (Usually a low number such as 4 or 6), and the type of sword depends on the spell. There is never more than one type of sword in a single spell. The swords go away after once use. This means that the moment the sword hits anything, it breaks and dissolves away, though still doing damage. Swords float 1-2 feet away from the mage at all times while they are not in use, though they usually don't stay that way for long. This is different from requip in that the Swords are immediately destroyed and they never have any different elemental capabilities.
Strengths: This magic really encourages Speed, as the caster has to hurry up and grab another sword if they want to keep up in a fight. Offensive abilities tend to be plentiful when dealing with swords, and the same goes for close range capabilities that are also incredibly high, since swords happen to be generally melee weapons. There is also a good chance for variety, since a difference in spells can mean a difference in the type of the swords.
Weaknesses:The swords tend to only last for one use per sword, so more uses means more magic spent on more swords to fight with. Also, while the swords can be used to block certain attacks, this wastes the use of a sword that could other wise be used to strike the enemy with. This indicates that the defensive abilities of this magic are limited, and so are long range capabilities, which is expected when dealing with swords.
V. HISTORY
- History:
- Daelyn was born the youngest of five in a family where she was the one and only girl. Her mother died giving birth so she never really knew her, and only had a picture to her name. Daelyn was named after her late mother, as her father told her that he wanted to keep her legacy. Daelyn wants to make her mother proud for this reason. One reason she wants to be so strong is that she wants to make sure she is worthy to bear her mother's name. Her mother was well known in their small mountain town for being the most gracious shop keepers in Yarne, the name of the town.
Being the only female in her family, she always stood in the shadow of her brothers and her father, who was a skilled swordsman and spent time teaching his sons about the art. Daelyn was always left out of such training sessions, expected to inherit her mother's flower shop, but she would sometimes sneak around to watch the boys fight with their swords. She watched carefully at the lessons, hoping that she would one day be asked to join in on what looked to her like fun.
That day never came, and by the time Daelyn was 12, she was fed up. She did not really know why she wanted to use these swords so badly, but she knew if she didn't do anything she would never get the chance. She burst into the training room as her father was about end his training session with two of her brothers. Grabbing a sword as she ran, she charged at her father, who was more than a little surprized. Daelyn didn't really have a plan, she just wildly attacked so that her father was forced to defend himself. With every stroke of the sword, she let go and used a new one, not letting up even to breathe. Her dad was only defending himself, trying to talk her into stopping. However, Daelyn was having too much fun with her swords. She only stopped when Her father went offensive, accidentally striking her on the left arm, leaving a deep wound. She ceased when she noticed the pain soon afterwards, and that was also when she realized that the swords she had been using were of her own creation. From her own magic. Of course, she didn't have much time to celebrate discovering her magic, because now she had an injured arm and a furious father to deal with.
"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!" His voice was booming as he tended Daelyn's wound. "Uh.. I don't... I don't Know I--"
"You Could have been killed. You are lucky I just hit your arm." Daelyn was to the point of crying. "I'm sorry, I just wanted to train with you... like everyone else..." Her father's face softened some. "You should have just told me." He finished dressing the wound and looked Daelyn in the eyes. He offered to give her proper training, which could be helpful for her to get the hand of the new magic that she displayed. She had never used magic before that day, so she needed to get used to the idea.
For the next few years, she trained hard every day to be the best swordsman she could be. She wanted to be better than she could be. She even got to the point where she surpassed a couple of her older brothers. When she turned 16, she decided that it was time to go out and find her own adventure. She knew that guilds were a good place for wizards like her, and she wanted to see how she would fare in one, out there in the real world. It was time to start her own story, a quest to prove that women are just as good as men and to make her mother proud.
