II. APPEARANCE

Height: 5’10 (179cm)

Hair: Brown with a tinge of red in it, the length of his hair varies as some strands reach his shoulders while others rest just around ear height.

General Appearance: Shin is a rather skinny young man but still keeps in top shape with slick abs and smooth skin. He stands at roughly 179cm and weighs in at a light 85kg. He has brown hair that has a tinge of red in it which rest around ear and shoulder height. He has bright red eyes, a dermal piercing on the right side of his chest and a black guild tattoo at the center of his back between his shoulder blades. He clothing style doesn’t change all that much and generally sticks to colors such as black and red, often you can find him wearing a red and black belt-like collar around his neck, a black leather jacket, red leather gloves, a red v-neck shirt that hangs low over his thighs, half black and half red jean like pants and over the top of these he wears a red and black set of thigh high boots, something you would often see a woman wearing but suits Shin even so.
Extra: Shin has a dermal piercing on the right side of his chest, wears a red and black belt-like collar and his guild tattoo is black, located at the center of his back between his shoulder blades.

III. PERSONALITY

Personality: Shin is very much your silent type, he very rarely speaks and if he does, it is generally because he has to. He has a serious and stern expression on his face at all times, very few people have ever seen him smile and if they do see this unnatural event, no one believes their story. He isn’t a fan of fighting, he generally stands back and watches from a distance rather than getting involved however, if a friend or family member is in trouble, he will gladly stand in their place to defend them. The only other time he fights is when a request is involved and even then he tries to keep the fighting to a minimum. Those odd times when Shin does speak can sometimes make those around him disgusted with him or can sometimes get him into a spot of trouble, he often speaks his mind, not holding back the harsh reality and many don’t actually like to accept this. Overall though, Shin is a rather polite young man and will never treat someone with disrespect unless it was called for, if you were to say hello to Shin, he would politely nod back, wave or even say a soft ‘hello’ in return. Expecting more from him is like expecting snow in summer.

Motivations: Family/Friends/Guild in Trouble - Shin isn't much for fighting, he generally tries to steer clear of most confrontations, however if a family member, friend or guild member are in trouble he will gladly stand up and fight to defend them.
Jewels - The only thing that Shin seems to get motivated about is when there are jewels involved. Whether it simply be a request or perhaps a tournament, jewels are needed to survive in this world and he needs to earn it one way or another.
A reason to live, the pursuit of happiness - Shin has never really been a happy person and hasn't really got anything in his life that he can find value in, he hopes that someday he will be able to find that meaning to live and someday become, happy.
Fears: Animals - Shin has a fear of animals, since he was a young child he has never met an animal that hasn't attempted to attack him and as a result he generally tries to keep clear of all animals in the fear that he will be attacked once again.
Crowds - Shin isn't a huge fan of crowds, he generally keep away and if a place does get too crowded, he tends to leave immediately. He isn't sure himself as to why he doesn't like them, but he does sometimes feel a little claustrophobic.
Important Tasks - Although it isn't really a fear, he dreads the day that he is asked to take on a very important task on his own, knowing that there is a chance of failure and many being disappointed with him.

Negative Traits:

• Aloof (-1): Your manner is cold and unapproachable, distancing you from friends and strangers alike. Your preternatural intelligence lends itself to viewing others as slow-witted and a waste of your precious time. Your charisma is lowered.
  Explanation: You can't act nice to people and you can't make friends easily.
  
• Bad Reputation (-1): You have a reputation that angers or frightens people. Examples include being unlucky, petty, or cruel. The rep may or may not be accurate, but in either case, word travels faster than you do.
  Explanation: You can't communicate easily with non player characters. Somehow they've heard of you and the things they've heard weren't too good.
  
• Compulsive Honesty (-2): You cannot tell a lie, nor can you behave in a deceitful fashion. You tend to be blunt rather than tactful, even if it means insulting someone who you and your companions are trying to impress.
  Explanation: You can't lie and you will tell the truth when someone asks you something instead of lying. So if your team is impressing an ogre and the ogre asks if you guys are truly from the guild you guys claimed you were and lied about it, you will screw it up and say the truth.

Shin has an intolerance to all animals, he himself fears them and is also disgusted in them.

Shin must scratch the back of his head every time he walks through an already open door, if the door is closed and he must open it, this does not seem to occur. Shin also cannot eat anything without some kind of fork or other object, he cannot use his hands at all, even hard candy.
  
• Proud (-1): You don't like accepting help from others. If a gift or offer of aid smacks of charity or pity even the slightest bit, you grow indignant and refuse it.
  Explanation: You win 10% less jewels from wheel spins.
  

IV. MAGIC

Magic: ReQuip: The Weaponmaster
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: Shin is capable of storing items in a small pocket dimension so that he can easily summon them at any time, even during battle which gives him a high level of flexibility during combat. There is a limit as to how much he can store within the pocket dimension and this is why he mostly stores objects such as weapons and shields. Shin can use Requip magic to change his weapon or shield in the midst of battle, changing from a strong, heavy attack to a light long ranged attacker.
Strengths: One of the major strengths of requip magic is that Shin can change weapons and shields within an instant, allowing him to adjust to even the most unusual circumstances. It allows Shin to change from close range combat, to long range combat to defensive, which means he isn't bound to one specific style. Shin has been trained in a variety of different weaponry and has a some-what mastery over each weapon he uses, having these weapons on him at all times makes his life far more safer. His weapons are primarily used for offensive while his shields are used primarily for defensive, however... It doesn't stop him from bashing someone's head in with a shield.
Weaknesses: Some major limitations to requip magic are that when the weapon or shield is destroyed, the effects are destroyed along with them and Shin must Re-Equip to another weapon or shield in order to gain new effects, he cannot sustain them after the weapon or shield has been destroyed. Shin can wield up to two weapons at once, however he cannot do the same with shields, only certain shields that Shin possesses can be equipped with certain weapons and he can never equip more than one shield at a time.

V. HISTORY

History: Shin grew up in a small country side town known as Laybia which was just outside of Hargeon. Shin had a rather simple up bringing to begin with, he worked with his mother and father on the farm in which provided them with crops that they often kept for themselves as food on the table but they also sold to the other members of the village, providing resources for them for a low price.

Being raised on a farm, Shin didn't have a lot of free time on his hands but he found a great interest in Requip Magic so that when ever he did have five or ten minutes he could practice it until he got so good that he began using it in his daily chores.

Shortly after Shin's 9th birthday, Laybi and Shin's home was attack by members of a small dark guild that began destroying the buildings and burning all the crops. Shin didn't care for fighting but chose to stand up that day to defend his living. He was no match for the three dark wizards who had faced him but as a result, managed to save a village member from being killed. Everyone within the village managed to escape with their lives, but everything that they owned and everything they worked for was destroyed.

After the events that destroyed his home, Shin and the members of the village began rebuilding Laybi, but during this time, Shin became quiet, reserved and unemotional towards everyone around him, the events of that night and being defeated so easily after putting so much effort into it seemed to have left a saddening memory within his mind that he doesn't seem to be able to shake.

As Shin grew older, he began to become more secluded and reserved, never really socializing with another and rarely speaking to his own parents. The events of that night weren't exactly traumatic compared to things that other people may have gone through but they still left a mark within him. He began focusing more and more on his Requip Magic, for good reason too. His small village had become quite poor, unable to afford all the repairs and provide crops for each other to the point where most of the villagers had left, moved away to Hargeon. Shin's parents remained but continued to struggle, it was because of this that Shin decided to leave home in search of a wizards guild so that he may be able to find work in doing requests, to send his earnings back to his parents so that they can keep up with the upkeep of their home, provide food on their table and maybe someday, be able to support themselves as his father is getting older and unable to do the usual required work on the farm.

Shin is now 21 years old, he joined Fairy Tail two years ago and hasn't spoken to his parents since he was 18, though he still continues to send them monthly installments to keep them afloat and they too often send him cards and gifts on his birthday and Christmas.
