Now to the spells:

Sparks: Approved. Damage shouldn't be distributed evenly. The point of an Area of affect is to affect the entire area in the same manner. So if you want to you can distribute it, but you don't have to.

Lightning Strikes: I love these spells, but I feel like its way to vague. Clouds are so high, that people can manipulate it without you seeing it. So I suggest make it in a way so that it is closer to the target. Maybe a magical circle appears 10 meters above the users hear or something like that, and strikes down. Also give it a range for those mages who would be flying while you use it.
