II. APPEARANCE

Height: 175 cm  (5'10")

Hair: Brown that reaches just under his ears.

General Appearance: Phoenix stands at roughly 175 cm and weighs in at about 70 kg. He has medium length hair which is brown and reaches just under his ears but above his shoulders. He isn't 'tank' or extremely masculine but does take care of himself, giving him a six pack, a slim build and a 'V' line. He has dark green eyes and tanned-white skin which is a clear sign that he spends a lot of his time out in the sun. He is normally seen wearing casual t-shirts and pants but is also seen wearing shorts and sandals when it is quite hot. He has three silver studs in his left ear and two in his right, a nipple piercing on the left and a scar on his right shoulder, as if a sword had grazed him.

III. PERSONALITY

Personality: Phoenix is your classic 17 year old boy who loves to just have a good time, party and chase after girls... Boys too. He is quite polite, rarely ever rude to anyone unless of course they have disrespected him, his friends or his guild. Like any teenage boy, if he sees someone very attractive, he can't help but have impure thoughts and get a little distracted, he can also be a little flirtatious. This doesn't change all that dramatically during a fight however, he may develop a more serious composure, he still can't help but be distracted by someone's beauty and will often comment on it. He has one major flaw with his personality and that is: He strips.

  Explanation: Whenever this allergy comes into play you must suffer the consequences. The allergy must be something that can actually come and not something strange and unique.
  
• Compulsive Honesty (-2): You cannot tell a lie, nor can you behave in a deceitful fashion. You tend to be blunt rather than tactful, even if it means insulting someone who you and your companions are trying to impress.
  Explanation: You can't lie and you will tell the truth when someone asks you something instead of lying. So if your team is impressing an ogre and the ogre asks if you guys are truly from the guild you guys claimed you were and lied about it, you will screw it up and say the truth.
  
• Curiosity (-1): You're a naturally curious person and you find mysteries of any sort irresistible. In most circumstances, alas, your curiosity overrides your common sense. This forces you to investigate something unusual, even if it looks like it might be dangerous.
  Explanation: You will walk deeper into the forest you have never been before. You won't turn around from the castle that you have never seen. This can result into getting you into very dangerous situations.
  
• Dependent (-3): You have a ward or charge that depends on you, usually a young child or elderly relative that needs you to provide for them and devote at least part of your time to them. In money terms, this will cost you five percent of your jewels a month. You may also be required to stay near home often in case you are needed.
  Explanation: You will be placed on a list and at the end of the moment five percent of your jewels will be deducted.
  
• Hedonistic (-1): You love a good time. You party too much, drink too much, and eat too much. You have trouble resisting an invitation to join someone in a drink and sometimes shirk your duty if offered a more enjoyable time elsewhere. Whenever a good time is presented you let your guard down. You're also not capable to resist seduction of any sort. It's just not in your nature to resist such opportunities.
  Explanation: You always give in when a good time is offered such as drinks, women and other things. Even in the midst of a dangerous raid through a castle you decide to stay in the room that has wine and beautiful girls in them even though they could be monsters.
  
• Overconfident (-1): Nothing is beyond your capabilities. If you wanted, you could defeat the best swordsman in the world; you just haven't had any reason to do so yet. And surely that chasm isn't too wide for you to leap across.
  Explanation: You are easily goaded, and anyone attempting to taunt you will succeed.
  

IV. MAGIC

Magic: Light of the Phoenix Magic
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: It is a Magic in which the caster is able to manipulate and utilize light in various ways. Occasionally, a certain technique, usually involving the hands, is used to cast a Light spell. When used for offense, the Magic can take the form of a sphere-like object that can be ejected at the opponent or as a beam that can be blasted. Light can also be emitted from the caster's body; depending on the brightness or heat that the light emits, it can be capable enough to blind an enemy or cause the surroundings to explode. Light Magic can also be manifested for multiple usage in defense. However, Phoenix can bend the light to his will, allowing him to create more unusual objects to aid him in combat.
Strengths: Because Phoenix can use Light magic in such a diverse way, he is able to create almost anything out of light, if his mind thinks of it, he can pretty much create it. He is able to use light as an offensive and a defensive magic and can even use Light magic to blind his opponents temporarily. Light is strong against darkness and vice versa, making them equally as powerful as one another, in saying this. Light magic has no other real weakness.
Weaknesses: Because Light magic is so powerful, it is also quite draining when Phoenix uses a large amount which can cause damage to his own body or even cause him to faint in the middle of battle. Light's only elemental weakness is Darkness and vice versa. Light magic doesn't really have a solid form, it is because of this that Phoenix is incapable of flight, sure he can propel himself into the air using beams or other light abilities but nothing that can support aerial combat.

V. HISTORY

History: Phoenix had a rather normal upbringing, as a child he was immediately introduced to magic, specifically Light Magic because his father was a user as well. Every afternoon when his father would return from the guild, the two of them would train together while his mother would be preparing dinner. At the age of seven, Phoenix' mother was killed in a raid of his home town and the guild disbanded, as a result, his father fell into a drunken and depressive state, barely being able to look at his son since.
Years went by where the two of them were constantly arguing and constantly scouring for food since his father refused to work, it was because of this that when Phoenix turned 11 years old, he began going out on public requests so that he could earn jewels to provide for himself. Unfortunately, when his father caught wind of this, he immediately began taking all of Phoenix' jewels and spent it on alcohol, if Phoenix were to refuse, he would be punished.
The night of Phoenix' 15th Birthday, Phoenix and his father got into another argument that seemed to escalate quickly to the point where the two of them got into a battle of magic, only Phoenix noticed something different about his father's magic, it wasn't Light Magic any more... It was Darkness Magic now. The years of heartache and depression corrupted his magic and turned it evil, manipulating Phoenix' father. During the fight, Phoenix was hurled against the wall of their home while his father threw a spear of Darkness at him, pinning Phoenix to the wall by his shoulder. His father came in for one final attack to completely end Phoenix and out of desperation, Phoenix defended himself with a blast of light with his free hand that shot like a bullet through his father's chest.
After spending months of sadness and depression, Phoenix finally snapped himself out of it and decided to join a guild, to start living for himself. He knew that his grandmother on his mother's side still lived in Magnolia and began making his journey there not only to visit and perhaps find a place to stay, but to find work there as a member of the Fairy Tail guild.
Phoenix has now been a member of Fairy Tail for about a year now and has been living with his grandmother, helping her around the house, taking her shopping and providing jewels to keep them afloat from the requests he had been taking.
