If it misses, the hair will simply retract to its normal length. A D rank spell can destroy the binding and the captive person can use a D rank buff or higher to force their way out.

Any type of armor can disrupt this spell, or any kind of latex or rubber type materials will stop this spell, or even being broken out of the bindings before the spell goes off. This spells activation is quite obvious through small bits of sparking electricity coursing through the outer ends of the hair in a purple color.
