II. APPEARANCE

General Appearance: Isabel Nyx has a slender, but fit body. Her black hair is generally tied into a bun in the back, but sometimes is let free to flow down to her shoulders. She often times is wearing simple black garbs with a white belt cinching them in at her waist. Underneath these garbs, her body is generally covered in white wrap around her chest to minimize her size. When preparing for battle, she dons her iron breast plate as tradition within her order she grew up in. Another primarily mission-oriented appliance she wears is her mask.
Extra: Isabel Nyx's order mandated that all members wear a mask with black to symbolize the darkness in which they reside, red to show the blood that flows eternally, and white as a sign of retribution & justice to all who oppose them... which Isabel is ironically guilty of.
III. PERSONALITY
Personality: Isabel Nyx is a rather aggressive person that lives for the darkness. While she may not show it directly while confronted by someone, she is often scheming of different ways she may kill them once they cross her as a way to keep her calm instead of immediately acting. Isabel has a rather dark view on life as well with the belief that no man exists for any reason other than to better themselves. While Isabel does not necessarily believe that a guild is the best place to be with this pessimistic mentality, she says it as a means to further improving her own skills as she works towards her goal of power and dominance.
As Isabel has grown more powerful over time, she has realized that with this power, a target has been brought to her that she must carefully work around. Although she would prefer to kill anyone that comes across her, she has learned that there is a balance of things in life and slaughtering everyone only makes the chance for her to be assassinated before gaining ultimate power more likely. She will fight with any means necessary, and often use dirty tactics to create an advantage in combat.

- Allergies (Cats) (-1): You are afflicted with allergies. These may be something as simple as hay fever, but the reactions to such will result in something like a huge bout of sneezing and gasping. You must mention this allergy in your character application.
- Ambitious (-1): You crave power. Money is nice, but being in charge of other people is your favorite thing. You are likely to be brought down by attempting a risky grab for power and failing. Even when deals are risky you will give in and agree most of times.
- Arrogant (-1): You firmly believe that you are better than anyone else is. Your ideas are the best, your clothes are the most stylish, and you have to let everyone else know how much better you are. Once in a while you openly show contempt or disdain for someone else.
- Bad Reputation (-1): You have a reputation that angers or frightens people. Examples include being unlucky, petty, or cruel. The rep may or may not be accurate, but in either case, word travels faster than you do.
- Bravado (-2): You are rash in combat, refusing to show weakness by falling back from your enemies' blows. You either face it and stop it, or get hit in the progress. In addition, you cannot fight defensively.

Note that some dislikes may be too trivial or ridiculous to count--a dislike of Bavarian-crème-filled donuts or mechanical pencils, for example, has no real dramatic value and will not be allowed.

IV. MAGIC
Magic: Terrain Manipulation Magic
Caster or Holder: Caster-Type
Description: Isabel Nyx manipulates the earthen terrain around her to ensure that she remains advantaged in battle. This magic includes different types of earth-based manipulation such as raising walls of earth, opening and closing holes in surfaces (thin surfaces, of earth and <12 inches thick), creating an explosion of dirt to cloud the air effectively reducing visiblity, and dirty tricks like slightly raising/lowering the ground or kicking/throwing dirt into the eyes of her enemies.
Strengths: The strengths of Isabel's Magic lies in transforming the current earthen area into a region that will benefit her abilities. Since she has the ability to fight in the dark, she often times will manipulate the earth to hinder the vision of enemies through creating walls or launching dirt in the air in order to block out light to ensure for a swift kill and escape. Isabel Nyx can essentially meld through thin earthen walls (stone, mud, concrete, etc) by quickly manipulating the earth around her so that she may pass through it. Also, although her magic is powerful, Isabel is not beyond dirty tricks such as kicking dirt into the eyes of her opponents, or creating noise in another nearby place by lifting a rock and making it fall.
Weaknesses: Isabel Nyx's magic falls short in terms of true offensive ability. Isabel's magic has no ability to directly damage targets, but rather to create an advantageous situation for her. This shortcoming leads her to being a rather ineffective mage, considering she must rely on her combat ability to carry out her assassinations or fights. Her magic also will fail her when she is on a body of water as the ground that she relies on so heavily is essentially absent.
V. HISTORY
History: Isabel Nyx grew up within the Order of the Night, where she was brought in at birth due to her parents' role within the clan. At seven years old, Isabel was wandering around after her training, where she had come across an old relic of the Order -- she bumped into it and the mask of the founder of the Order of the Night shattered on the cold, stone floor. Isabel was beaten near death, and her parents were punished to a fate far more severe... being torn limb from limb by black panthers. From this point forward, Isabel had become terrified of any sort of black cats and was overcome with the obsession that she will one day make a mistake so terrible that she could only be punished by being torn apart.
The next several years were gruesome to say the least, where Isabel had learned the ways of the assassin through this order. She had been training for several years once she grew of maturity (only 14 in the Order), when the clan decided that it was becoming too large for the shadows to conceal. At that time, they held a number of battles, where the victor was to come out as the only one alive to ensure the clan's survival and continuous evolution towards power. Isabel had not been forgiven over those seven years, and the leader pit her against his son, a prodigy of the clan and next in line to rule the Order. Using the cheap tricks that she was taught in combat training, she overcame the challenge with a swift kunai through the young prodigy's right eye socket. She reveled in the victory, but did not receive any sort of reward or consolidation as the leader grew even more bitter of her.
Months upon months had passed by where Isabel received the most intensive training possible as an effort to kill her without necessarily doing it directly. Most of the training she had received was on basic hand to hand combat as well as with a simple kunai. She began sleeping with one eye open as she feared that the worst was coming to her. Roughly eight months later, Isabel became overcome with exhaustion and started to under-perform, just barely making it through the tasks without dying. In the middle of the night, the leader of the Order of the Night was frustrated and tired of waiting, so he had entered her chambers to slaughter her. However, the rigorous training and paranoid mentality helped Isabel recognize the threat before he was able to enter, and she dropped in from above and shattered his spine with a plain board before he realized she was not in bed. She continued to swing until crushing the man's skull and realizing it was the leader. Out of a bit of shock and fear, Isabel donned her gear, stole the leader's Shadow Kunai, and began assassinating the other sleeping members of the Order. Slowly, but surely over that blood filled night, she had eliminated every last member of the cult to ensure that no man may seek retribution against her. From there, she left into the night to seek a new life.
Isabel Nyx had first learned of the different guilds among the outside world, but figured that she had better come well-prepared in case they were mere traps to imprison lowly criminals who joined. She began freelancing different assassination jobs over the years until in the Winter of X779, she was double-crossed. Isabel had barely made it out alive from the guards that were waiting in ambush to capture her, but her use of vision-limiting magic and manipulation of walls made for a possible escape while still killing the man who had sold her out. From there, she decided that Phantom Lord may be a bit more appreciative of her talents, and was desperate to join a guild that she saw as a means to obtain more power.
