General Appearance:
Kaia is fairly slender in build, despite her hourglass figure. She has pale skin that is heavily contrasted by her red eyes. Her long black hair reaches past her waist, and she always has one lock in a signature braid. She occasionally wears ribbons and headbands as well. She particularly enjoys wearing short skirts (often with ruffles) and doesn’t mind showing a little bit of skin, particularly when it is warm outside. She’s been known to wear outfits that show off her midriff.

III. PERSONALITY

Personality: Kaia is somewhat of an elitist in nature. She is typically quick to judge, which can make it hard to get along with her. A very intelligent young lady, she is quick witted and has a sharp tongue. She has a low tolerance for people that she views as stupid, simply because she views that they are not worth her time.

Outwardly, she has a very high opinion of, and likewise very high standards for herself. She expects the best from herself, and does not ever want to be perceived as weak or incompetent. She takes great pride in her physical appearance, and there is rarely a hair out of place. This sentiment ties from her judgmental nature-- people judge you on how you present yourself. As such, she presents herself in the most dignified way possible, and expects people to do the same.

She isn't afraid to truthfully speak her mind, which often includes "telling people like it is." Being an articulate young woman, however, she will do so in tactful ways that seem less blunt, despite her words typically being draped in malice.

However, Kaia also has a soft side to her as well. She is in fact very kind, sweet, compassionate, polite, and even doting to those that she feels have earned her trust and respect. To the people that she cares for, she becomes a different person-- dropping the defensive judgmental shell to reveal a genuinely good person. The people that see this side of her are few and far between and have to "earn" it.

IV. MAGIC

Magic: Mirror Magic
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: A Magic that allows the caster to summon and control the properties of mirrors. The number of mirrors does not appear to have a limit and multiple can be joined together, thus creating a three-dimensional object. The caster is capable of creating multiple, also separate mirrors to virtually absorb and then reflect any opponent's attacks. Another use of this Magic is traps. The caster can create multiple mirrors joined together around an opponent, rendering them unable to move.

Strengths: Mirror magic is strong in the sense that it holds no particular element-- as such, it doesn't have a specific counter to its magic. It has immense defensive capabilities. For example, mirror magic can both absorb and reflect attacks, meaning that the caster can send deflected magic towards an opponent, or absorb attacks altogether (considering that the strength of the attack is near that of the mirror spell.) Mirror magic can also be used to immobilize enemies, by trapping them in a room of mirrors. Upon higher levels (A/S) the mirrors can also project illusions based on the desires and/or fears of opponents.

Weaknesses: Mirrors are inherently fragile. As such, one of the major weaknesses of mirror magic is that the mirrors themselves can be broken. Once the mirrors are shattered, their magic capabilities are lost. As such, if a mirror is broken, the caster would have to cast another mirror to replace it. The mirrors can be shattered by anything that will make a strong impact. This makes them particularly weak against palm magic, magical weapons, or anything that focuses on physical force.

V. HISTORY

History:
Kaia was born to a family of well-known, affluent wizards: a long linage loyal to the Blue Pegasus guild and the magical community as a whole. Despite being the only child in her immediate family, Kaia was the youngest of several cousins. As a young child, she was taught to always look, do and act her best in order to maintain a good impression of her family-- as she too bore the name, and her actions and appearance were a reflection on all of them. This concept is likely what led to her judgmental nature later in life.  

The Mizuno family was one that typically specialized in water and ice-make magic, however as a young child, Kaia discovered that her magic talents were a-typical. At the same age that many of her cousins discovered their water and ice based skills (and were sent to relatives to teach them to better master their abilities) Kaia was discovered to have mirror magic-- a skill that just one other in the family possessed: her maternal grandmother. At the age of seven, the young girl was sent away to live with her grandmother, to hone her magical skill.

Her parents appeared to have been far more interested in their duties in their other life aspects-- not particularly interested in waiting around for their daughter to gain magical strength. Instead, after dropping their daughter off with her grandmother, they took a 100 year quest. It was obvious by their postcards however, that they still loved, cared and missed their daughter. Indeed, Kaia used their absence as inspiration to grow stronger-- excited to show them the vast improvement that she had made since their departure.

By the age of eleven, the postcards from her parents had ceased completely-- though her youthful optimism figured that they had been simply too busy to write, or that the postcards had been lost in the mail. The lack of communication still allowed a depression to slowly sink in-- halting most training progress. By the age of 15, and after a dark depression that plagued both her and her grandmother, Kaia came to understand that her parents were likely not returning. It was this realization that newly inspired the now young woman to train harder. She had a new goal in life: obtain wizard sainthood. While this would not bring her parents back, it would be a way to honor them in her successes.

Kaia worked hard everyday studying and learning all she could from her grandmother. However, by the time that Kaia turned 17, the old woman was beginning to grow weak and frail. Training, which had once been a daily routine was now nonexistent. The old woman could barely make it out of bed on good days. It was obvious that the woman who had essentially raised the girl was now no longer strong enough to care for herself. Kaia quickly, and without hesitation took responsibility of the woman on herself.

Kaia moved her and her grandmother to Hargeon so that she could join her parent's guild of Blue Pegasus. She currently resides in a small home with her grandmother, taking requests to help in the aide of the elderly woman (as she currently has no access to her family's assets).
